Product Identity

With this product/service that I am providing for Selfridges. It is going to be beneficial for me to establish an identity, and image and carry this forward to make a sense of style for this area. With the idea of flowers being so positively looked upon as i have already briefly mentioned i would like to allow a whole new approach to be made from this and try and turn this into an innovative and fun approach similar to how Liberty London have done with the flower service they provide.

With this being so, i will need to research into all forms of flowers including live, dried out and possible plastic to see which will work best. With a florist counter also being added this means that i will need to research into the most popular and expensive looking flowers and ensure that these are stocked on a regular basis to allow the consumers to be happy with the availability of the floral pieces.

Additionally, as well as looking into the pricing of flowers, vases, frame, lights etc i will need to ensure that i have covered areas of budgets, marketing plan, and advertisements to ensure that this contacts the right form of consumer. This will attract a core customer along with secondary and thirtairy to bring new and refreshed consumers to the Sefridges stores.

There is a gap in the market for this product with only Liberty London doing such playful and creative outcomes. Other than that there is only Interflora, Moon Pig and other floristry places so this leaves a massive gap in the market in terms of competitors as departments stores such as Debenhams, John Lewis, Harvey Nicholas do not have this option.

From here, my aim is to begin looking into Selfridges as a brand and discover their identity coming to terms with their style, their image and the way in which the brand works. This will include areas such as how they draw in their consumers, what stands out to that brand imparticular and why/how they have become so well established. From this i will then look into layouts for this service looking at ideas so they way in which this can be presented to the public.
