Liberty (Competitor)

Liberty is another department store which can be found on Regent Street, based in the West end shopping district of Central London. The department store focuses on a wide selection of luxury goods which includes; womens, men’s and children’s fashion, cosmetics, fragrance, jewellery, accessories, home ware, furniture, stationery and gifts. Liberty is known for its floral trends along with their graphics prints newly opening a floristry within the store which provides the consumer with more reasons to shop at the store.

Liberty is a highly established store that brings in a huge range on consumers for many different product areas which means that this is constantly busy and constantly making a huge profit. The new profit for the brand and  the new eye catching area that has been introduced is the Wild at Heart florist. This can be found at the main entrance to the store showcasing beautiful and unusual flowers which immediately catch the viewers attention and engage them in, both into the flowers and the store. This was a new and successful venture for the brand and has worked completely in their favour. The flower stand is sensory and full of colour and scent which again acts as a  drawn in point. You are able to pick your own selection and allow the flowers to bloom allowing the team to transfer this into a stunning bouquet.

In addition to this, it is believed that they have quirky styled candle holders along with vases but they make this seen creative and eye catching. This is exactly what my service is going to provide their audience with. Although this seems to be the same, I am going to try and make this slightly different by adding hints of fashion  to this where I can and also adding hints of home decoration such as picture frames that you can change the flower in the centre and then see what comes from it. This is so that the department stores do not offer exactly the same services.

With Liberty, they take another simplistic approach however ,they make this jazzy and add excitement and fun spirits to their designs. This is something that Selfridges lack as it is extremely plain. However, this could be changed. Their logo is simplistic, their presentation is which is why this makes so much profit as it is easy navigated around and allows browsing in your own personal time. This again can link to Selfridges.




I will ensure that I look to Liberty for inspiration and direction. I will try and fit a trip to London in to allow myself to be able to get to know the store better too.
