Debenhams (Competitor)

Debenhams Is a multinational retail chain which operates under a department store format in the United Kingdom. The company was first founded in the 18th century as a single store in London but this has modernized and become a franchise over time.

This is not as up market as the likes of Harvey Nichols, John Lewis and Selfridges however Debenhams does offer a variety of product area which include; women’s wear, beauty, home and furniture, men, kid swear, lingerie, shoes, gifts and toys, electrics, sport, designer and weddings. This is a more affordable price than the other competitors which allows more family orientated consumers to be welcomed by the store.

With not having as big of a budget as the high end market level stores, this means that they would not go into the florist industry as this would cost too much money and they could not possible afford to waste it on this as an experiment.  However, due to covering a lot of other basis, this is why this brand is seen as a competitor. However, there is not much to compare with this brand due to the standards and image being slightly lower and less expensive.

The promotion for the brand speaks out in large volumes due to targeting a wide audience as they cover a lot of basis. This is something that I can take from the brand is there approach to trying to make a profit.
