General Research into the Flower Service

With this new flower service, the whole idea is to present consumers with new and innovative ways to view floral decorations making this interesting and exciting. With this new way of viewing the floral pieces this can allow consumers to buy them for many more reasons that to just sit in a vase.

One way of viewing this would be to insert the flower into the picture frame. This could be a dried flower or a fresh one. This would allow this to hang or stand alone giving beauty not only to the frame but the flower. This gives the product more meaning and definition. This gives the home a more relaxing but intriguing feel which would allow the consumer to select a different flower whenever they felt the need to do so. This idea of presenting a flower is something unique, this is extravagant and up to date with modern ways of living which would allow the consumer to feel the desire to keep going back. This gives another life to the flower as well as the frame which creates this different experience, this powerful presence from the flower and makes the viewer then enjoy their product. With this idea this allows the brand to stand out as they would be trying something new. This allows the brands name to be recognized for this and will hopefully draw in new consumers wanting this within their home.

Another product that this would include would be centre pieces for in the middle of a table. Whether this be with a candle surrounding this or on its own this would act as a key feature within a table or a fireplace. This is not so intriguing as the frame but this would draw in another consumer for different reasons.

Additionally, hanging baskets are another option that could be seen outside your home and draw attention to your house being admired by others which would be unique due to their arrangements and possible hints of glitters and shimmers.

Vases are another feature; they would be designed with floral based patterns on to allow the flowers to then go inside these. This would attract consumers due to the funky, unique, one off styled vases.

Flower bouquets, wired designs and broaches are other forms of designs that will come from this. I need to now begin researching into all of these design in depth to see what they entail and how I can make these unique and original to Selfridges alone. Also, I need to see why these items would stand out from the crowd.
