Interflora (Competitor)

Interflora is a flower delivery network, which is associated with over more than 58,000 affiliated flower shops in over 140 countries. They have gain international success over the years and built up strong relationships with consumers who stay loyal to the company and only shop there when looking for floral goods.
Only in 1953 did they change their name to Interflora and the slogan Flowers Worldwide along with the Mercury Man became well known allowing a strong business to have been created. They are now the proud holders of the world’s largest and most experience flower delivery network and pride themselves with this fact. They try and accommodate for the consumers needs and try and form a personalized bond with all staff that are involved within the workplace this includes the florists, the delivery drivers, the customer advisors and so on. All ensuring that the consumer is happy not only with the product but with the company but with the staff they are being sent.
This is something that I need to consider when designing and planning out my development of my design. I need to ensure that Selfridges as a brand can accompany to all needs and go out of their way to ensure that the gifts are send and received with personal touches.

Interflora offer exciting and new selection of floral gifts for every special occasion that there is. They offer contemporary chic to classic favorite leaving a wide variety to be chosen from. This is again another selection that I want available within the florist I am creating for Seflridges. I want the unique creations to create perfect gifts to the best quality they can be.

Interflora offer the consumers;
All flower bouquets

With there being so much to offer this allows every type of consumer to be approached whether they are shopping for a £5 or a £100 that option is still there. There is always something for somebody and not too pricey either. Obviously the price varies on what it is you are looking for but bouquets average from £30 which is reasonable for a florist.

Their presentation and packaging is key. This is another selling point for the brand as this allows the consumers to be happy with the way in which they receive they products making them want to order back at the same place again and again. This is where the loyalty ties in along with the pleasant and positive vibes towards the brand. This may be hard for me to steer away from and compete against as my pricing for the floral goods will be a little bit more, however, this is expected from a high end brand like Selfridges. Interflora may no even pose a threat as I will displaying not only bouquets but also home decorations along with fashion pieces which helps the brand to stand out from the crowd.

With their flowers, when you buy a bouquet, sometimes a vase is included in the price, this is another factor that I could consider when it comes to designing my floristry.
Here are some of the ways they they present their gifts to their consumer. They always ensure that there logo is placed somewhere firmly onto the goods for the consumer and friends of the consumer to know where the purchase was made. This service is very convenient for the customer due to this being able to be delivered to their home address which allows a more relaxed approach within. This is something I will also consider when creating my outcomes.

Overall, the brand has established their own unique sense of style and found their feet within the market and with the success rate being so high this is where there money comes in. The style is simplistic yet chic and sophisticated which allows them to stand out. The use of colours and the placement is another factor as to why the brand has been so successful in time. These are factors I will take from the brand along with their easy order policy which means that the consumer can purchase goods really easily.
