The rise in cosmetics over the years has
been astonishing, more and more individuals seems to be spending a worthy
amount of money on cosmetics ensuring that they have the best around to allow
their skin to feel and look healthier. With this being so, when you approach a
cosmetic store there always seems to be massive queues as you end up waiting up
to half an hour to be seen which shows how the stores have a lot of custom. To
have the consumers waiting and feeling slightly disappointed this is where I came
up with the idea of a augmented
reality/virtual mirror for cosmetics. This would be likely to feature in the
bigger department stores such as John Lewis, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols saving
time and staff effectively.
This would work systematically and there
would be a few dotted around the store to save time and speaking to a
consultant you would be able to find this information out yourself. How this
would work would be there would be a virtual mirror within the store which
would be interactive. You would have your own username and password and then be
able to browse through the brands within the store and try on as many cosmetics
as you like. This would take a picture of your face and allow yourself to experiment
trying on foundations, powders, lip sticks, eye shadows the lot. This would
then allow you, once happy with the product you have found to print off the receipt
with the product code and then this would be available to buy. This is an easy process
and no staff would be involved so this would be extremely environmentally
friendly.
All products would be programmed into this
mirror and would be updated regularly to allow you to become aware of what is
new in to certain brands. This is effective as you can try brands out without
wasting any money finding out what the best product for you is.
In terms of promotion, this would be
features in store, online, flyers in the store, mails outs, and through social
media platforms. This would be expressed in all ways possible to allow
women/men to be happy with their choice of product.
It would look similar to this:
